Night at hotel in Lima

At 9 am, transfer from our accommodation to start our Lima city tour, we will start with Visit to “Pucllana Pyramid” then Historical Center of Lima with more than fifty monuments and Colonial edifications, such as the Paseo de la República, the San Martín Square, the Main Square, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral Basilica, and the City Council Palace amongst others, San Francisco Convent. We will be back at the accommodation in Lima around 2pm

Lima – Trujillo

In the afternoon, transfer to the bus station in Lima to take our bus to Trujillo, northern of Lima. The drive will take about 11hours. We will have snacks on board.

Upon arrival in Trujillo, transfer to the hotel.

Pickup from accommodation around 2pm. We will go to the Temple of the Rainbow or Huaca Dragon, symbol of rain and fertility in the Chimú culture, less than 6 kilometers from the city of Trujillo. Once there we can admire the vestiges of the Chimú culture, such as the representations of the rainbow and serpents of two heads that adorn its walls.

After touring the temple, we will continue to the Palace of NIC-KAN, one of the most important of the ten that we will find in the city of Chan Chan. This palace is dedicated to the god of the sea and therefore the decoration of marine themes such as fishes.

Finally we will go to the coast to visit the Huanchaco Spa, the most important of the city of Trujillo. During the visit, we will discover why the spa takes its name comes from the chimú word “guaukocha”, which means “lagoon of gold fish”. Strolling along the beach and the boardwalk we can see the typical boats up close called “caballitos de totora”, fundamental inheritance of the mochica and chimú cultures. . We will return to the accommodation in Trujillo around 6pm.

After breakfast at the hotel, pickup from accommodation around 9am to start our tour to Huaca Rajada, the town of Sipán, where the excavation areas of the Lord of Sipán are located, funeral platform and visit, from the new Site Museum, where the Priest-Warrior ornaments are exhibited.

We will continue our visit to the Archaeological Complex of Túcume; Valley of the 26 adobe Pyramids, which attest to the most exceptional era of the Lambayeque Culture with the residences of rulers of the Rulers, Tour of Pyramid I, El Purgatorio and Mirador. Lunch (not included)

Excursion to the Museum of the Royal Tombs of the Lord of Sipán located in Lambayeque, considered one of the most complete and didactic exhibitions of the discovery with the detail of the trousseau belonging to the Rulers and the interpretation of the iconography of the Moche culture.

Artisanal purchases in the ceramic workshops, goldsmith’s shop of replicas of the Moche’s works. Transfer to the hotel in Trujillo around 6pm

Around 10am, pickup from our accommodation in Trujillo, we will start our visit at the town of Magdalena de Cao, 60 minutes from Trujillo. The excursion begins with the visit to the Cao Site Museum located in the El Brujo Archaeological Complex where the exhibit the findings made by the “El Brujo Archaeological Project” by the Foundation Wiese with the cooperation of other institutions.

We continue with the tour of the Huaca Cao viejo, which is the area of ​​the discovery of the Lady of Cao, a mummy belonging to the warrior aristocracy, who had tattoos of snakes and spiders in her arms, next to her were jewelry, weapons and ceramic utensils, elements that support the theory that she was an important woman in a militaristic society and patriarchal.

We continue with the visit to the colonial Church, of which there are currently only remains. Will have a panoramic view of the Chicama valley and Huaca Prieta . Return to accommodation in Trujillo around 2pm

Trujillo  – Lima

In the afternoon, transfer to the bus station to start our journey back to Lima, the drive will take aprox 11hours.
